Architectures of Planetary Well-Being Reimagining extractive global paradigms that either contribute to climate crises, or fail to address them.
April 26, 2026
London, United Kingdom
rearc institute’s second Architectures of Planetary Well-being Symposium brought together more than 400 architects, designers, environmental organizers, and artists from around the world at Whitechapel in London to explore what it will take to confront intersecting environmental, social, and economic consequences of climate breakdown. The in-person gathering considered themes that have emerged through and since our first symposium in February 2023, particularly in regard to material realities and processes and our collective understandings of well-being and grief.
The Architectures of Planetary Well-Being symposium series of site-specific live events bring together intercultural and interdisciplinary points of view intended to expand the discourse and praxis, as well as to support open-mindedness and mutual learning. Previous symposia have come together in Bogotá (Colombia), São Paulo (Brazil). They are experimental inquiries into the values, practices, and belief systems that express and protect the interconnectedness of all life, and that we engage through the concept of architectures of planetary well-being.
