Biogenic-Mineral Value Chains + Just Labor + Climate Adaptation: Planetary Heutagogies in West African Afrotropics
Anchoring the first day of the World Ecologies in Formation symposium at Yale School of Architecture, the opening Planetary Heutagogies discussion gathers an interdisciplinary cohort to explore a more collaborative and self-directed approach to understanding and informing sustainable construction, from raw material to finished product, with the West African Afrotropics bioregion as a site of investigation. Planetary Heutagogies is organized by Mae-ling Lokko, Oswaldo Chinchilla, Laetitia Morlie, Alireza Samani Zamani, Nebyu Haile, and Jessica Bristow.
World Ecologies in Formation runs October 29–31 and is co-presented by the Yale School of Architecture and the Yale Center for Ecosystems in Architecture.
