Island Futures traces how everyday resources fueled unequal trade between the islands of the UK and the Caribbean. A July 10th learning day explores how four minerals and plants shaped the material world, from the food we eat to the buildings we make, and reflected on the fractured communities, ecosystems, and trade routes that shaped how we relate to spaces & places we inhabit.

Organized by Material Cultures and hosted by Tipping Point East in Newham, East London, the event features five workshops running throughout the day. As a participant, you will attend one workshop in the morning and a different workshop in the afternoon.
